CNC Machinist Position Overview

The CNC machinist at aRoboticsCompany will operate several tools: 3 and 4 mills, plasma cutter, lathe, miter saw, router, drill press, band saw, grinder, and sander as well as many hand tools. The individual in question must be detail oriented and safety conscious. Though a college degree is not required for this role, the applicant must have an extremely good understanding of the fundamentals of geometry and physics.

This role will primarily involve setting up and executing toolpaths on the various CNC tools listed above. The machinist will also be responsible for maintaining these machines. Skill with manual metalworking tools is essential as those will be used to prepare and finish machined parts. Most of our applications have tolerances within a few thousandths of an inch, but the machinist must be sufficiently attentive and detail oriented to work on projects that require more precision.


Requirements

This role does not require a college degree. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented with effective fine motor skills. Ideally, the machinist will be familiar with transitioning CAD to CAM and toolpaths in Fusion360 or similar software. At minimum, they must have experience machining using a CNC mill. The hours for this role are from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm on weekdays. This is a fully in-person role.

Salary

Total annual compensation is at least $50,000 for those with minimal relevant experience. Experienced individuals should apply to this same posting and will be offered a higher salary if hired. Compensation is set as 80% fixed base and 20% as quarterly bonuses.

Employees are given 12 paid days off per year of their choice and 25 days off that are set at the beginning of the year. They additionally get 10 paid sick days.
